University of Ghana Exchange Programme in Czech Republic 2027

The International Programmes Office of the University of Ghana (UG) has announced an opportunity for eligible undergraduate students to participate in a semester-long exchange programme at the Faculty of Education, University of Hradec Králové (UHK), Czech Republic.

The exchange will take place during the Summer Semester, from February to June 2027, as part of the 2026/2027 academic year.

The opportunity is available to eligible University of Ghana students interested in gaining international academic experience in the Czech Republic.

University of Hradec Králové Exchange Programme

Under the exchange arrangement, a selected University of Ghana student will spend a semester at the Faculty of Education, University of Hradec Králové.

Students interested in applying are encouraged to carefully review the available courses and consider how the courses relate to their current programme of study.

Eligibility

The opportunity is open to:

  • Undergraduate students in their 2nd or 3rd year
  • Students with a minimum CGPA of 3.0

Eligible students should ensure they meet the stated academic requirement before preparing their applications.

What the Exchange Support Covers

The selected student will receive stipend support for the semester to cover boarding/lodging and return flight tickets.

However, the funding does not cover every expense associated with participating in the exchange.

The selected student will be responsible for:

  • Obtaining the required visa;
  • Financing the visa application process;
  • Covering additional personal expenses;
  • Paying other incidental costs that may arise during the exchange.

Applicants should therefore make adequate financial preparations before accepting the placement.

Application Requirements

Interested University of Ghana students are required to submit the following documents:

1. Cover Letter and Study Plan

Applicants must submit a well-written cover letter outlining the study plan they intend to undertake during the exchange.

The letter must be:

  • Formal;
  • Well-structured;
  • Signed; and
  • No more than one page.

2. Passport Biodata Page

Applicants must provide a copy of the biodata page of their passport.

The passport must have an expiration date beyond 2028.

3. Recommendation Letter

Applicants must obtain a letter of recommendation from their Head of Department.

4. Original Academic Transcript

Applicants must submit their original academic transcripts from the Academic Affairs Directorate.

5. Proof of English Proficiency

Students must provide a proof of proficiency in English letter.

The letter should be requested from the University of Ghana Language Centre, using the student's academic transcript as a supporting document.

6. Current Curriculum Vitae

Applicants must submit a current Curriculum Vitae (CV).

7. Passport-Size Photograph

Applicants must provide one coloured passport-size photograph.

Important Reminder for Applicants

Students applying for the University of Hradec Králové exchange should ensure that their proposed study plan is clearly presented in their cover letter and that all required supporting documents are included.

The selected student will receive support towards boarding/lodging and return flight tickets, but will need to independently handle and finance the visa application process as well as additional personal and incidental expenses.
